Purpose

Kia kotahi te tū
Standing together for the arts
It is about kotahitanga, standing together, and supporting
the arts sector to respond to some of our biggest challenges.
—
The theme has four focus areas or ‘wero’ to help guide the programme design and development:
How will we build equitable and inclusive futures for ngā toi and the arts through partnership, ensuring just outcomes in policy and action? What is the path forward for honouring and implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi for tangata whenua and tangata Tiriti?
What will accessibility look like in our future arts communities? How can we centre the experience of our communities to build inclusive practice and embed access for all, especially for tāngata whaikaha, tāngata turi, Deaf and disabled artists?
How will we position ngā toi and the arts as central pou in the economic development of our communities? How can we unlock the potential of the sector in driving economies, fostering and deepening audience participation, and creating revenue opportunities locally, across Te Moana-nui-a-Kiwa and globally?
What role will AI and other emerging technologies play in ngā toi and, now and tomorrow? How can we harness the potential of technological innovation to enhance creativity and mahi while safeguarding IP, matauranga and artistic integrity? What does this mean for data sovereignty and the future of art sales, distribution, and copyright?
In our communications and on our website we’ve condensed these into four questions:
Equity & Inclusion – How do we ensure just outcomes through partnership, policy, and action, honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi?
Accessibility – How do we centre community experiences to embed access for all, especially for tāngata whaikaha, turi Māori, Deaf and disabled artists?
Emerging Technologies – How do we harness AI and innovation while safeguarding IP, mātauranga, and artistic integrity?
Economic Development – How can ngā toi and the arts be positioned as central pou for economic growth, participation, and global opportunities?
Target audience
Nui te Kōrero is for arts and cultural organisations, artists, practitioners, managers, leaders, producers, practitioners, marketers and governors working in the arts.

Anyone attending the in-person event must abide by any changes in the requirements as noted by the New Zealand government to safely host an event.

In the event that Nui te Kōrero is held virtually, and your session is suitable for broadcast you will be required to connect to the broadcast studio. Your Presentation
Te Kauhau Matua: Keynote Sessions are high-profile presentations designed to inspire, challenge, and set the tone for the conference theme and focus areas. Delivered to the full audience, these sessions are 20-25 minutes long, followed by a 5-10 minute Q+A session facilitated by the MC.

Ngā Hihiri: Spark Sessions are 8-minute, fast-paced presentations delivered back-to-back. Each speaker has a focused window to share bold ideas, insights, or stories—no Q+A, just powerful, thought-provoking content. This format is designed to inspire, challenge, and showcase diverse perspectives.
Further information
We’ll be using an Event App at Nui te Kōrero. This will give you the opportunity to use polling technology during your session — a simple tool that lets you ask questions and gather responses from the audience in real time using their mobile phones. You can use multiple-choice questions, and the results appear instantly on screen. It’s a great way to encourage participation, check in with your audience, or gather quick feedback. Something fun to think about!
All questions from the audience will also be submitted via the Event App. This allows all attendees an opportunity to ask a question which other attendees can vote on, so you get to answer the most burning questions.
The plenary room set up will be cabaret style (round tables seating six-eight people).
Standard equipment will include a screen (or two), data projector, laptop and microphone. We’ll ask you to advise if you have any additional AV requirements over and above this. We’ll capture this detail when you provide your presentation to us.
If your presentation includes PowerPoint or other visual aid, please ensure that it is built on a screen ratio of 16:9.
